Did you realise it is possible to obtain pet I.D. tags here in Trinidad? We now know of four sources.
A tag can quite literally save your pet's life and it can certainly save you and your pet a great deal of distress if he or she goes missing. Everyone says their pet never strays, never gets out and never would. However, there is a first time for everything and even in the most well ordered households accidents can happen. Some time ago, I noticed a older dog, slightly lame, aimlessly wandering near the main road in Westmoorings on a hot, sunny afternoon. The dog looked rather lost and confused and I stopped and literally collared him, as, unusually, he was wearing a collar. Even more unusually, he had a tag attached with a name and phone number. I called the number on the tag and discovered that the dog was indeed lost and some distance from home. It was a longer, more complicated story than this, but the end result was that the dog was back home within 2 hours and none the worse for his ordeal. Without a tag he could have been taken to the pound and put to sleep within a week. Now, who says they don't need a tag? |
