Dog Behaviour

Body Postures combine with other gestures to indicate mood. The submissive dog (1) typically adopts an almost crouching position, with ears held back and down, eyes averted, and tail between the legs. Even the fur lies flat, and in extreme submission he will roll on his back and display the belly (3) to his protagonist. The dominant dog takes up an aggressive stance (2), making himself look as bulky as possible, and with head and tail held high. Raised hackles along the back and shoulders, and bared teeth (4) are an offensive threat.
